Christmas is fast approaching! And then the New Year…This is a season to savor. Savor, to me, is when you soak up something so fully that it just fills your whole being. Savor relationships, savor time, savor God, and, you know what, it is okay to savor yourself too!
If you have been following along since I started this blog in February, you will already know that my word for 2017 is “Prepare”. So, with that theme in mind for this year, I wanted to take a moment to share how I am “preparing” for 2018 with all of you and hopefully get to hear how you are preparing for the new year as well!
But first, it is important to remember that, although preparing is necessary for a new season or new year, it is also crucial to stay present today – to make the most of the rest of 2017. There is still time, still much to do, still goals to accomplish, and people to love on!
That said, here are 3 ways I am preparing for 2018…
1) Powersheets and Goal Prep with Cultivate What Matters and Lara Casey. Last year was my first year doing this. I followed along through their Powersheets 2018 prep week via social media and Lara’s goal setting series on her blog and then, when my Powersheets arrived, I was prepared! If you follow Cultivate What Matters or Lara Casey on social media, you will see that they are starting this Powersheets 2018 prep week on December 4th and Lara’s goal setting series begins December 20th on her blog! I am so excited to follow along, I can’t even contain myself!
2) Making a Vision Board. Each year, I get together with the ladies we work with and we create vision boards together. I first learned about this from Terri Savelle Foy. The goals I uncover and determine through my Powersheets and Goal Prep in December will go on my vision board in a picture form with specific details and deadlines. No more than ten items for 2018. Just enough to stretch me, but not so much that I am overwhelmed. My board for 2018…
3) Writing my Confessions (aka Affirmations). Finally, I write a list of confessions to speak aloud over my life, my husband, our family, and our business that line up with our goals for 2018. These often change through out the year, but I always start fresh for January 1st. I even record them so I can listen to them each morning and follow along as I speak them aloud! To learn why confessing our goals out loud is so powerful, head on over to this post.
With the proper preparation, I know 2018 will bring great harvest and abundance, goals achieved, and obstacles overcome. I hope these tips help you as you prepare well for 2018! If you have any questions on where to begin, please feel free to contact me!
